Job summary

City of Lynchburg Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Part-time Service Worker to assist with athletic field maintenance, mowing, marking, and related tasks. The role supports Park Services Supervisors and contributes to the upkeep of facilities and shared-use sites.

Work three days per week, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or as scheduled, with Paid Time Off benefits. Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Virginia Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• CPR/First-Aid certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate field maintenance equipment including mowing, marking, and related tasks.
• Maintain athletic fields and irrigation systems, and assist in field maintenance duties.
• Assist with building and park maintenance tasks as needed by the department.
• Inspect facilities to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Log work activities, report hazards, and follow safety policies.
