Job summary

City of Lynchburg seeks a Parks Services Worker for weekend duty, totaling 16 hours with either 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm shifts. Duties include supporting park facilities, properties, and programs, and assisting with rental, maintenance, and custodial tasks across division sites.

The role partners with Supervisors to ensure safety, compliance, and smooth operation of events and recreational activities while delivering excellent service to the public.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Some experience with rental, maintenance and/or care of facilities and properties.
• Valid Virginia driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist in rental and use of Parks and Recreation facilities and sites.
• Provide support for recreational programs and events, including open gym and markets.
• Assist instructors and staff in program delivery and field prep.
• Support parking and security at events and facility rentals.
• Complete and post Facility Use Permits and related documents.
• Provide custodial services and setup/breakdown for activities.

CPR/First-Aid Certification

NIMS IS100/IS700 training
