Job summary

Alvin Community College in Alvin, TX is seeking qualified applicants to join our Part-Time Instructor Pool in the Continuing Education Workforce Development department. Qualifications

• Three years of related field experience.
• Current knowledge of applicable OSHA standards.
• Experience in occupational safety across industries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver OSHA 10- and OSHA 30-hour training appropriate to the assigned industry and student population.
• Provide instruction on OSHA standards, workplace safety requirements, hazard recognition, and hazard-control practices.
• Teach students to identify, evaluate, and communicate common workplace hazards and appropriate corrective actions.
• Cover topics such as fall protection, electrical safety, hazard communication, PPE, material handling, machine guarding, fire prevention, emergency procedures, and industry-specific hazards.
• Teach students how to locate, interpret, and apply OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements.
• Provide instruction on SDS, chemical hazards, labeling, PPE, and HazCom.
• Incorporate case studies and hands-on activities to reinforce safety concepts.
• Teach accident and incident prevention, inspections, and corrective-action processes.
• Develop and maintain course materials, lesson plans, presentations, activities, and assessments.
• Conduct assessments and evaluate student understanding of OSHA requirements.
