Job summary

Point Quest Group in Houston, TX is seeking an itinerant Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. The role is part-time (20 hours/week) with in-person, school-based settings. This position starts ASAP and serves students across all grade levels.

The ideal candidate holds a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist credential and can travel between school sites, collaborating with families, educators, and related service providers to develop IEP goals.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate students' orientation and mobility needs in school and community environments.
• Provide individualized instruction in safe and independent travel skills.
• Teach skills involving spatial awareness, sensory efficiency, route planning, and cane use.
• Develop, implement, and monitor orientation and mobility goals within students' IEPs.
• Recommend environmental modifications and mobility supports.
• Collaborate with Teachers of the Visually Impaired, families, educators, and related service providers.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary evaluations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and monitor student progress.
• Travel between assigned schools and instructional environments as needed.
