Job summary

Astrana Health is seeking an OR Technician to support surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the sterile field, assisting surgeons and the team, and ensuring instruments and supplies are available and properly maintained. This is a part-time, onsite role in Alhambra, CA.

Applicants should have an accredited Surgical Technology program, with six months OR experience if no program, and strong attention to infection prevention and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is preferred.
• No prior operating room experience required for graduates of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• A minimum of six months operating room experience required for candidates without an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for procedures and ensure instruments, equipment and supplies are available and functioning.
• Assist with preparation of instruments and supplies for scheduled cases.
• Maintain the sterile field according to protocols and infection prevention standards.
• Assist with draping and patient preparation for procedures.
• Provide sterile instruments, sutures and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
• Perform sponge, needle and instrument counts with the surgical team.
