Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 6 months sterile processing knowledge and experience.
• Coursework/training in High-Level Disinfection and sterilization processes.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must have AHA Basic Life Support certification.
• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Computer literacy and proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile field and OR safety; assists with positioning and time-outs.
• Prepares surgical trays and instruments; uses preference cards and anticipates supply needs.
• Manages equipment function, performs quality checks, and supports sterilization processes.
• Maintains safe care environment; disposes of waste and sharps per protocol.
• Communicates professionally, protects patient privacy, and provides compassionate care.
