Job summary

Davis Eye Center is seeking a part-time Optician / Eyewear Consultant to assist patients in selecting eyewear that fits prescriptions, lifestyle, and style. You will guide frame choices, explain lens options, and provide personalized service in a professional office.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of relevant experience and strong communication skills. The role involves on-site work with opportunities to grow through a company-paid certification program and clinical team collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Previous optician experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to complete administrative tasks accurately.
• Interest in eyewear, fashion, and helping patients find the right solutions.
• A positive, team-oriented approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Help patients find eyewear based on prescriptions, lifestyle, and preferences.
• Explain doctor recommendations and educate patients on lens options and eyewear quality.
• Help patients choose frames that balance comfort, function, and personal style.
• Build positive relationships by providing attentive, personalized service.
• Calculate patient co-pays based on insurance eligibility.
• Enter spectacle orders accurately and monitor progress for timely delivery.
• Receive and verify completed orders, notify patients, and coordinate dispensing appointments.
• Follow up with patients to check adaptation to eyewear and contact lenses.
• Perform eyewear adjustments and minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain attractive displays and monitor inventory; support daily operations.
