Monroe Community College invites applications for a Part-Time (80%) Faculty position in Optical Systems Technology in Rochester, NY. The successful candidate will prepare and teach face-to-face and online courses, develop new instructional materials, assess student learning, and participate in college and department activities under the supervision of the program chair.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's in Optics (or related field) with 3+ years of experience; a Master's or Ph.D. is preferred.

Qualifications

• Earned bachelor's degree or higher in Optics (or related field) from a regionally accredited institution.
• Three+ years of experience in an optics-related field is required with an associate's degree.
• Evidence of effective communication skills (interpersonal, speaking, and writing).
• Commitment to supporting an inclusive campus environment.
• Proficiency with technology and digital teaching tools.
• Commitment to continued professional growth; teaching experience in optics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach face-to-face and online Optical Systems Technology courses.
• Develop online course materials and instructional activities.
• Prepare lesson plans, syllabi, and course outlines.
• Assess student learning and maintain records as required.
• Participate in department meetings, college committees, and program development.
