Job summary

Cashell Elementary School, part of Montgomery County Public Schools, seeks a one-on-one paraeducator to support a student in the School Community Based special education program in Rockville.

Must support toileting, feeding, and life skills while promoting mastery of grade-level or alternate standards. Position is part-time with wage range $26.23–$40.17 per hour and potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum nine credit-hours in education-related courses.
• 1 year of experience with students in structured educational settings preferred.
• If no related coursework, then 2–4 years of experience with children/adolescents in structured settings.
• Two years of experience in structured settings such as daycare, pre-school, or after-school programs.
• ParaPro Assessment score of 455 or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional program implementation and monitor student behavior.
• Assist with reading, writing, and communication in English.
• Support students with special needs and life skills.
• Follow written and verbal instructions for tasks.
• Utilize Google Workspace and MS Office in daily tasks.
• Interact with children, young adults, and staff to facilitate learning.
