Job summary

Brightmont Academy is seeking a Part Time English & Social Studies Teacher to provide one-to-one instruction for ~20 hours per week with a flexible schedule. Compensation is $24-30/hour. You’ll deliver targeted lessons for a single student, without required lesson planning or outside work, and focus on student growth.

We value a Bachelor's in the subject area, empathy, and a passion for teaching. Proficiency with G-Suite and LMS is expected, with background check compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in your subject area (English, Social Studies, History, Government, Economics).
• Patience & Empathy: you understand every student learns differently and you’ll support them.
• A Heart for Teaching: genuine passion to share your subject with the next generation.
• Proficiency using G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
• Ability to provide fingerprints (AZ, WA, only) and pass a federal background check.

Responsibilities

• Teach students one-on-one, tailoring lessons to individual needs and learning styles.
• No lesson planning or outside work required; focus on student instruction.
• Provide personalized instruction and guide students toward mastery.
• Use G-Suite and LMS tools to deliver materials and track progress.
• Support student growth through a gradual release approach and feedback.
