Job summary

Work Ready Texas is seeking a part-time Job Coach to support high school students with mild to moderate disabilities in community-based Work Experience placements. You will work on-site at local employer sites to help students learn tasks, understand workplace expectations, and build independence.

The role emphasizes direct mentorship, teaching of job skills, and collaboration with staff to monitor progress and implement accommodations as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Completion of UNT WISE Job Skills Training (online certification).
• Preferred experience in Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Education, Coaching, Counseling, Mental Health, Social Work, Non-Profit, or other Human Services fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support to students during their work shifts.
• Teach and reinforce job skills needed for workplace success.
• Model appropriate professional behavior and communication.
• Support students in problem-solving and understanding workplace expectations.
• Communicate observations, progress, and concerns to Work Ready staff as needed.
• Assist in developing strategies, accommodations, or prompts to increase independence.
• Represent Work Ready professionally at employer partner locations.
