Job summary

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease (ABIM) or equivalent.
• Active, unrestricted New Jersey medical license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Experience in interpreting echocardiography, stress echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology studies.

Responsibilities

• Perform, supervise, and interpret transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms, and nuclear cardiology studies.
• Review orders and medical history to determine appropriateness of testing.
• Interpret imaging studies and prepare timely patient reports.
• Provide physician supervision of stress testing per regulations and standards.
• Evaluate patients before testing to ensure appropriate selection and preparation.
• Respond to medical emergencies during stress testing or imaging procedures per ACLS.
• Collaborate with sonographers, technologists, nursing staff, and admin to ensure quality studies.
• Ensure compliance with ASE, ASNC, ACC guidelines and clinical practice standards.
• Participate in QA, peer review, accreditation, protocol development, and quality improvement.
• Maintain complete documentation of encounters, interpretations, and recommendations.
• Communicate significant findings promptly to referring providers.
• Maintain all licenses, certifications, registrations, and credentials.
• Perform other duties within scope of licensure as assigned.
