Job summary

Nevada State University invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate nursing courses in clinical and skills labs. We seek experienced clinicians to collaborate with full-time faculty in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment.

Part-time openings cover medical-surgical, pediatrics, maternity, IC/CC, community health, and mental health areas. Compensation is paid per credit: $2,067 for theory and $3,000 per credit hour for clinical and skills lab courses, with

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
Minimum of one (1) year of RN clinical practice within the past three years.
Unencumbered/Unrestricted Nevada RN License.

Responsibilities

Implements the school's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical or lab teaching.
Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
Plans clinical experiences for and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to an individual or group of individuals.
Makes self-available to staff at the agencies.
Evaluates and provides documented feedback to student on level of performance based on course objectives.
Available for remediation of students as required or needed.
Orients and maintains current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with assistance of Nevada State and agency staff.
