Part‑Time Nursing Instructor

Are you an experienced nurse who wants to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals? Highland Community College is looking for Part‑Time Nursing Instructors to join our team in the Spring of 2027. This part‑time position is scheduled for approximately 10-14 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach nursing students in classroom, lab, or clinical setting with collaborative simulation experiences with opportunities available in Freeport, Rockford, Monroe, WI and surrounding areas.
• Supervise students during clinical rotations at local healthcare facilities.
• Assess clinical performance and provide feedback to help students achieve course and program learning outcomes.

What We’re Looking for:

Education and Experience:

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or Wisconsin if clinical oversight takes place in Wisconsin.
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of recent direct patient care experience in Med/surg or critical care nursing.
• Strong communication, organization, and a passion for teaching.
