Job summary

Chamberlain University is seeking a Visiting Professor to support nursing education at clinical sites in Troy, MI and surrounding areas. The role focuses on clinical teaching, supervision, and student assessment to advance nursing education and patient care outcomes.

The position requires a master’s or doctoral degree in nursing, an MI license, and teaching/precepting experience. A strong commitment to service, collaboration, and professional development is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Unencumbered professional nursing license in MI.
• At least two years of professional experience in instruction as a registered nurse.
• Live within reasonable proximity of Troy, MI; will teach at clinical locations assigned per session.
• Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
• Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
• Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care.
• Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose to enrich colleagues, students and the broader community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Clinical training at sites in Troy, Ann Arbor, and Monroe.
• Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system and profession.
• Plans clinical experiences and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students.
• Keeps course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
• Performs other duties as assigned; complies with all policies and standards.
