Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing required.
• Two years’ experience in academic teaching or professional practice.
• Valid Iowa Nursing License must be current.
• Demonstrated ability to manage, lead or train others.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize innovative classroom/clinical teaching strategies.
• Demonstrated experience in project development and management.
• Excellent relationship-building skills.
• Doctorate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach, supervise and evaluate student learning experiences.
• Provide advisement and guidance for intellectual and professional development of students.
• Develop, implement and revise course content in a limited subject area.
• Mentor to new or inexperienced faculty as appropriate.
• Participate in scholarly activities (grant writing, research, publications, teaching strategies).
• Engage in quality improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to policy formation for Mercy College and/or program/course.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
