Qualifications

• Current California RN license.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Three years of paid full-time hospital RN experience, within the past five years.
• One year in a charge nurse or leadership role for a specific function within past seven years.
• Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Responsibilities

• Interpret hospital policies and ensure unit compliance with Nursing Department standards.
• Serve as a resource for nursing staff and advise Nursing Unit Managers on issues.
• Coordinate inter-department communication and problem-solving with medical staff.
• Evaluate staffing needs each shift and adjust staff assignments hospital-wide.
• Perform patient care in emergency situations as required.
• Manage and oversee all incoming transfer requests and admissions.
• Perform telephonic patient triage and communicate clinical presentation to accepting physicians.
• Ensure bed assignments and priority placement for transfers and ensure preauthorization as needed.
• Document transfers and follow transfer center guidelines.
