Job summary

Workcare Inc is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to support medical and safety efforts onsite at a client location in Randleman, North Carolina. The role runs Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00am to 8:00am (4 hours per week) and involves return-to-work clearances and on-site clinical care.

The NP must hold an unrestricted NC license, a DEA license, ACLS/BLS, and have at least 3 years of advanced practice experience, preferably in occupational medicine.

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted NP license in North Carolina.
  • Unrestricted DEA license.
  • ACLS/BLS certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of advanced practice experience, preferably in occupational medicine.
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality of health information.
  • Strong communication and case management skills.
  • Proficient with computer systems and health records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide return-to-work clearances and adjust restrictions to ensure employees can safely perform job duties.
  • Provide first-aid, medical treatment and follow-up to on-site workers.
  • Assist onsite RN with regulatory testing as needed.
  • Perform effective case management follow-up for injuries/illness and absences.
  • Counsel employees on employment risk reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain employee health records and PHI in HIPAA compliance.
  • Communicate with Consulting Medical Director and Program Manager-Onsite Services about clinic issues and client requests.

Job SummaryWe are looking for a part-time Nurse Practitioner to support medical and safety efforts onsite at a client location in Randleman, North Carolina.Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday 6:00am - 8:00am (4 hours per week)Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEmployee Care, Treatment and Testing:Provide return-to-work clearances and adjust or modify return-to-work restrictions to ensure the employee can safely perform job dutiesProvides first-aid, medical treatment and appropriate follow-up to occupationally ill/injured workers consistent with appropriate Workers’ Compensation standards and laws.Provides first-aid or minimal incidental care and treatment and appropriate follow-up for non-occupational conditions consistent with appropriate standards for an employer on-site clinic and laws.Assists onsite RN in performing regulatory testing as needed.Performs effective case management follow-up for injuries/illness and absences.Provides counseling to employees on employment risk reduction initiatives as needed.Clinic ManagementMaintains frequent communication with Consulting Medical Director and Program Manager-Onsite Services regarding all clinic issues and client requests.Medical Records and Private Health InformationMaintains employee health records and databases.Computer data entry of all employee demographic and health information.Responsibly handles and guards Protected Health Information.Follows all applicable HIPAA laws, regulations, and guidelines.Client Interaction:Develops and maintains good relationships with client management, medical and safety personnel, co-workers and WorkCare supervisors and managers.Communicates with appropriate client management frequently.Provides timely, accurate reporting as dictated by client, WorkCare and by law.Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.Education and ExperienceCurrent, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in North CarolinaMust have unrestricted DEA license.Current ACLS/BLS certifications.A minimum of 3 years advanced practice experience with prior occupational medicine preferred.Skills and CompetenciesMust be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.The ability to make independent decisions in accordance with company policy and procedures.Take initiative on issues that arise daily.Able to manage multiple priorities.Must have the ability to maintain a professional approach with others in job-demanding, multitasking and/or project support situations.Computer SkillsMust be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Teams) and learn other software (example: SAP, Cority, etc.) as needed.Physical DemandsRequires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.Some bending and stretching could be required.Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Require daily walk to & from parking lot to clinic.May drive emergency vehicle within the site when responding to an incident.Work EnvironmentMainly indoor, office environment conditions.The noise level is usually moderate.Air quality is good, and temperature is controlled.Clinic is located within the protected/regulated areaFinal compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.Benefits for this position include 401k.The preceding statements describe the general job responsibilities and individual’s qualifications inherent to this position.
