Responsibilities

  • Provide first-aid, medical treatment and follow-up to workers per Workers’ Compensation standards.
  • Perform TB tests, immunizations, blood draws, and drug testing as required.
  • Coordinate employee health screening and surveillance programs (new hire, fit-for-duty, return-to-work, etc.).
  • Provide travel health care and vaccinations for global travel.
  • Maintain medical records and HIPAA-compliant privacy practices.

Job SummaryWe are looking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support medical and safety efforts at a large scale construction site located in Boise, ID. This project is anticipated to last multiple years with exact timing to be determined by client requirements.The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide health care services to patients and as needed to support medical and safety efforts at site.Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pmEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEmployee Care, Treatment and Testing:Provides first-aid, medical treatment and appropriate follow-up to occupationally ill/injured workers consistent with appropriate Workers’ Compensation standards and lawsProvides first-aid or minimal incidental care and treatment and appropriate follow-up for non-occupational conditions consistent with appropriate standards for an employer on-site clinic and laws.Performs regulatory testing, TB tests, immunizations, blood draws, drug testing if required.Performs wellness based testing and screening such as bio-metric (Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Glucose, etc) screening, Flu-Shots, and coaching for programs such as Smoking Cessation, Weight-loss and other company specific campaigns or seasonal programs such as Allergy Prevention including education and shots.Coordinates employee health screening and surveillance programs including new hire, fit-for-duty, return-to-work, medical surveillance, exit exams and substance of abuse screenings.Coordinates Travel Care and vaccinations to support global traveProvides return-to-work clearances as appropriatePerforms effective case management follow-up for injuries/illness and absenceProvides counseling to employees on employment risk reduction initiativeWork with ergonomist on resolving ergonomic issues with client company employeeWriting prescriptions, as neededClinic ManagementMaintains frequent communication with Medical Director and WorkCare Supervisor regarding all clinic issues and client requestsMedical Records and Private Health InformationMaintains employee health records and databasesComputer data entry of all employee demographic and health informationResponsibly handles and guards Protected Health InformationFollows all applicable HIPAA laws, regulations, and guidelinesClient Interaction:Develops and maintains good relationships with client management, medical and safety personnel, co-workers and WorkCare supervisors and managersCommunicates with appropriate client management frequentlyProvides timely, accurate reporting as dictated by client, WorkCare and by lawExpedites injury information to client management and insurance companies as directedEducation and ExperienceCurrent, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Idaho with national certificationMust have current DEA licenseCurrent ACLS/BLS certificationsA minimum of 3 years advanced practice experience with prior occupational medicine preferredSkills and CompetenciesStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Must be able to demonstrate the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality.Strong critical thinking skills; problem solving, and decision making.Must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.Ability to manage multiple priorities, with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to create and edit written materials.Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and clients.Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.Ability to meet and exceed daily and weekly individual performance goals.Ability to work independently as well as assisting other team members when needed.Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.Computer SkillsMust be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, &Teams) and learn other software (example: SAP, Cority, etc.) as neededPhysical DemandsRequires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.Some bending and stretching could be required.Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.Work EnvironmentMainly indoor, office environment conditions.The noise level is usually moderate.Air quality is good, and temperature is controlled.This position has an hourly pay range of $78 - $82 per hour.
