The Archdiocese of Milwaukee is seeking an Accountant II for a part-time role (20-40 hours per week) to support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. The position is based in St.

Francis, WI, at the Mary Mother of the Church Pastoral Center. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, 2–4 years of accounting experience, and strong Excel/MS Office skills, with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
• Knowledge of Catholic church and not-for-profit accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly accounting activities such as record contributions and bank activities, positive pay, and stop payments.
• Collect W-9 forms for vendors and prepare 1099s.
• Track fund accounts and prepare fixed asset entries.
• Process payroll.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and analysis.
• Prepare account reconciliations for Balance Sheet accounts.
• Prepare financial reports.
• Lead and implement opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
