Job summary

Pulmonary Sleep & Critical Care Specialist in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Part-time Sleep Technologist for night coverage (7:30 PM – 7:30 AM), guaranteed 24 hours per week with Wednesday and Saturday nights and additional shifts as needed.

The role focuses on performing polysomnography and related sleep studies, with no scoring required and ensuring patient safety, proper electrode setup, and adherence to AASM standards. Experience with sleep tech equipment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current CPR / BLS Certification required.
• Minimum 1 year polysomnography experience or completion of a sleep program.
• RPSGT/RRT/CPSGT required.
• Experience with Compumedics PSG5 is preferred.
• Bilingual/Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate Polysomnograms and sleep studies.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues during night shifts.
• Implement patient safety measures and therapeutic interventions.
• Explain testing procedures and educate patients about sleep disorders.
• Document observations to facilitate scoring and interpretation of results.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control and standards (AASM/BRPT).
• Reapply electrodes as needed and adjust setup as required.
