Job summary

Reading Hospital is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the R4E-Observation Unit. The role involves evaluating patients, planning and delivering nursing care, and documenting care for a diverse patient population with complex needs.

The RN will administer medications and perform tests within the scope of practice, while teaching patients and families about conditions and self-care. The position requires PA RN licensure, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• PA Registered Nurse License required.
• Relevant experience in a similar unit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
• Delivers patient care through evaluations, planning, implementation and documentation for a diverse patient population with complex needs.
• Performs patient tests and administers medications within RN scope of practice.
• Promotes patient independence by teaching patients and families about conditions, medications and self-care.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
