Providers’ Choice Laboratory in Houston, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Accessioner for the night shift. This part-time role supports daily operations by processing specimens, maintaining documentation, and ensuring workflow efficiency in a fast-paced lab.

You will collaborate with team members, adhere to quality and safety standards, and participate in training to uphold high laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, or related training preferred.
• 1–2 years laboratory or healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to reliably work overnight hours.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced lab environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and process specimens with accuracy and documentation.
• Maintain efficient specimen intake and processing to support workflow.
• Ensure specimens follow quality and patient safety protocols.
• Perform clerical and administrative tasks related to processing.
• Monitor inventory and ensure materials are stocked and within expiry.
• Assist training of lab assistants, students, or new team members.
• Coordinate daily workflow and prioritize urgent processing.
• Act as a problem-solver when processing issues arise.
• Support leadership and medical directors in high standards of operations.
• Participate in competency training and quality initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
