Qualifications include HS diploma (or equivalent) and typing 40 WPM, with potential for advancement to higher lab positions for candidates with biology/chemistry degrees.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent REQUIRED.
• Must be able to type at least 40 WPM.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Office experience, preferably in a medical setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry or similar fields for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Enter specimen data into the laboratory information system.
• Make sure the proper request forms have been used.
• Ensure proper identification on requisitions and bottles.
• Label all specimen bottles and cassettes with accession numbers.
• Maintain filing systems for lab reports and business documents.
• Handle telephone and other lab communications as needed.
• Adhere to all Sagis Standard Operating Procedures.
