Job summary

Allied Universal in Lexington, KY is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to provide customer service, conduct unarmed patrols of buildings and parking areas, and monitor access—ensuring safety and a welcoming environment. The role emphasizes flexible scheduling, with a pay rate of $17.63 per hour and a schedule including Fri and Sat night shifts. A background check, drug screen, and age requirements apply.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, loading docks, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, directing visitors according to site procedures, and documenting entries, exits, and security-related incidents.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services when needed.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity logs, patrol reports, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.
