Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor & Delivery on a part-time night schedule (24 hours, 7:00pm–7:00am) with rotating weekends. The unit handles a high-volume, Level IV designation, featuring a dedicated Maternal Transport Team and a long-tenured staff.

Requirements include an Associate degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), RN license at hire, and certifications including BCLS, NRP, NRPA, ACLS, CPI, and IFM.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required.
• BSN preferred.
• 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting or completion of an RN residency program (Required).
• At least 1 year of RN L&D experience (Strongly Preferred).
• RN - Registered Nurse (Required upon hire).
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required prior to providing independent patient care; maintained quarterly).
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Essential) (Required within 90 days of hire).
• NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Required within 90 days of hire).
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required within 90 days of hire).
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (Required within 90 days of hire; maintained annually).
• IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
