Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Night Audit Associate for the Atlanta area. The role balances and files end-of-day reports for all hotel outlets, reconciles cashier activity, and ensures accurate posting of room and food & beverage revenues.

You will support front desk operations during night hours and assist in guest services as needed. Strong cash handling, computer skills, and hospitality experience are valued in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• 6–12 months of related experience preferred.
• Accounting or hospitality experience is a bonus.
• Strong computer and cash handling skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Sociable, guest-service oriented demeanor.
• Good judgment and conflict resolution abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Audit, balance and report cash and credit operations for food & beverage outlets and room charges.
• Reconcile cashier reports with the restaurant system nightly and post unresolved tickets.
• Balance and post front desk charges, taxes and deposits; produce daily reports.
• Prepare statistics and income journals for daily reports.
• Ensure accuracy of room revenue, food & beverage revenue, and telephone revenue.
• Transmit credit card batches and run night audit final after balancing revenues.
• Provide hotel system liaison support during night hours.
• Perform Guest Service Representative duties as needed.

If you’re someone who notices the little things and strives to make a lasting impact, you’ll thrive here.Please visit http://www.valorhospitality.com to learn more about our existing hotels, other exciting job opportunities and our company.POSITION PROFILEResponsible for performing close of day scenarios for the hotel Guest Service area and account for daily activity by organizing and verifying information; identifying and correcting discrepancies; posting accounts; running and distributing daily reports.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIESAudit, balance and report on all food and beverage outlets’ (e.g. restaurant, lounges, banquets, room service) cash and credit operations to include but not limited to checks, over/short figures/tally sheets, deposits, counts, house charges, promotional materials, postings, etc. And reset all registers to ensure accurate, timely information.Follow all specified procedures to reconcile cashier’s reports with the restaurant system each night, researching and posting any unresolved tickets from the day shifts.Follow all specified procedures to maintain and post a daily balance of all house accounts, including running preliminary reconciliations, detail transactions and final reports to accounting.Audit, balance, post and report on the front desk to include but not limited to; room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, over/short figures, deposits, etc. To ensure accuracy and verify proper cash handling procedures are followed.Audit, balance and prepare, verify and report on Room information to provide rooms management with a picture of how they are performing.Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for preparation of daily reports. Produce accurate and timely reports and correctly handle all cash transactions.Balance and audit for accuracy room revenue, food and beverage revenue, cashier’s reports, and guest and house accounts and telephone revenue; assisting the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues. Balance and close all bank ticket codes, daily.Transmit credit card batches.Run night audit final after ensuring all revenues are in balance nightly.Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents.Act as hotel system liaison during night hours.Perform all Guest Service Representative functions as required; may assists in booking room reservations; may assist in answering hotel phone calls and notifying guests of message.Perform any other duties as designated.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESHigh school education or equivalent experience.Six to twelve months of employment in related position or office setting with this company or other organization. Accounting or hospitality experience a bonus.Requires having excellent computer and cash handling skills, ability to stand for extended periods of time; present a sociable, outgoing, lively and guest service-oriented demeanor. Ability to adapt to changing guest needs. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job.Good judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
