Job summary

Valor Hospitality is seeking a Night Audit professional to balance and audit daily revenues across hotel cash and credit outlets, including front desk and room revenue. You will prepare reports, verify transactions, and ensure accurate nightly close while supporting guest services and accounting processes.

The role requires strong numerical skills, reliability, and a customer-focused approach to maintain efficient financial controls and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Six to twelve months of employment in related position or office setting with hospitality experience a bonus.
  • Excellent computer and cash handling skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Good judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Audit, balance and report cash and credit operations for all food and beverage outlets (restaurant, lounges, banquets, room service).
  • Reconcile cashier’s reports with the restaurant system nightly and post unresolved tickets.
  • Balance and post front desk charges, taxes, deposits and house accounts; prepare daily reports.
  • Audit, balance and report on room charges, phone calls, taxes, deposits and other revenue streams.
  • Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for daily reports.
  • Run night audit final and transmit daily management and accounting reports.

If you’re someone who notices the little things and strives to make a lasting impact, you’ll thrive here.Please visit http://www.valorhospitality.com to learn more about our existing hotels, other exciting job opportunities and our company.POSITION PROFILEResponsible for performing close of day scenarios for the hotel Guest Service area and account for daily activity by organizing and verifying information; identifying and correcting discrepancies; posting accounts; running and distributing daily reports.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIESAudit, balance and report on all food and beverage outlets’ (e.g. restaurant, lounges, banquets, room service) cash and credit operations to include but not limited to checks, over/short figures/tally sheets, deposits, counts, house charges, promotional materials, postings, etc. And reset all registers to ensure accurate, timely information.Follow all specified procedures to reconcile cashier’s reports with the restaurant system each night, researching and posting any unresolved tickets from the day shifts.Follow all specified procedures to maintain and post a daily balance of all house accounts, including running preliminary reconciliations, detail transactions and final reports to accounting.Audit, balance, post and report on the front desk to include but not limited to; room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, over/short figures, deposits, etc. To ensure accuracy and verify proper cash handling procedures are followed.Audit, balance and prepare, verify and report on Room information to provide rooms management with a picture of how they are performing.Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for preparation of daily reports. Produce accurate and timely reports and correctly handle all cash transactions.Balance and audit for accuracy room revenue, food and beverage revenue, cashier’s reports, and guest and house accounts and telephone revenue; assisting the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues. Balance and close all bank ticket codes, daily.Transmit credit card batches.Run night audit final after ensuring all revenues are in balance nightly.Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents.Act as hotel system liaison during night hours.Perform all Guest Service Representative functions as required; may assists in booking room reservations; may assist in answering hotel phone calls and notifying guests of message.Perform any other duties as designated.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESHigh school education or equivalent experience.Six to twelve months of employment in related position or office setting with this company or other organization. Accounting or hospitality experience a bonus.Requires having excellent computer and cash handling skills, ability to stand for extended periods of time; present a sociable, outgoing, lively and guest service-oriented demeanor. Ability to adapt to changing guest needs. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job.Good judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
