The Night Auditor will handle various duties such as responding to guest requests, processing payments, and maintaining a clean front desk area. Competitive compensation of $18.00 to $19.00 per hour is offered.

Job description

The Night Auditor is responsible for balancing the revenue and expense transactions that occurred during the day at the hotel, overseeing the front desk operations and appearance, attending to guest needs during check‑in and check‑out, and providing a first‑rate guest experience. Must be available to work from 11 pm until 7 am, weekends and holidays. The position can be part‑time or full‑time year round. The role also includes duties as a shuttle driver and guest‑service attendant during audit shifts until 2 am.

Responsibilities

1. Provide a First‑Rate Guest Experience.
2. Provide information to guests about hotel policies, services and amenities.
3. Respond to guests’ requests for assistance and information about the local area.
4. Sell and upsell rooms to walk‑in customers.
5. Partner with the sales department to ensure knowledge of key accounts and groups, along with tracking of company information.
6. Enter and change reservation information on the computer system.
7. Post charges to guest accounts.
8. Process payments from guests.
9. Close, balance and correct guest accounts.
10. Count and balance cash, credit cards and direct‑bill accounts.
11. Investigate or analyze out‑of‑balance situations and make adjustments as needed.
12. Complete various computer audit reports.
13. Perform all duties as outlined in the training manual.
14. Listen for or anticipate and respond to guest complaints.
15. Operate the hotel switchboard or PBX. Use an established greeting when answering the phone or meeting guests in person. Speak with warmth and friendliness. Find a way to say “yes” to their needs if reasonably able to do so. Look for ways to be helpful and courteous.
16. Clean the front desk and lobby area.
17. Balance shift work and cash drawers.
18. Report potential safety or security hazards to management immediately. Know all emergency procedures and how to respond in the event of different types of emergencies.
19. Stand for long periods of time.
20. Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Compensation: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour.
