Job summary

Demant's Hearing Screening Associates seeks a Newborn Hearing Screening Technician for a part-time role in Liberty MO, with a secondary site in Olathe KS. The technician conducts newborn hearing screens prior to discharge, educates families, and records results in hospital systems.

Training is provided; the role requires childcare/healthcare exposure, basic computer skills, and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years of healthcare or childcare training/experience, or related college curriculum is a plus.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Ability to function independently in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Ability to attend all company provided training.
• Willingness and ability to learn and operate hearing screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings in well baby and NICU units prior to discharge.
• Communicate relevance of screening to nurses, patients, and parents.
• Analyze and communicate responses to problems per company and customer needs.
• Maintain and operate hearing screening equipment and assist with data management.
• Interact with hospital departments and follow policies and procedures.
• Uphold the code of conduct and compliance policies.
• Gain thorough knowledge of TEOAE and/or ABR technology after training.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
