Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based newborn hearing screens and educate parents on the importance of early intervention. Very part-time, less than 20 hours per week, with daytime shifts starting at 8 am at Northwest Medical Center.

On-the-job training and annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology are provided, with data entry, PPE and safety protocols emphasized, plus scheduling follow-up appointments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR Certification required or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens and educate parents on the importance of early intervention.
• Comply with company and facility policies, PPE, vaccinations, and safety protocols; raise questions to HS Manager as needed.
• Evaluate patient readiness for screening and ensure screening is performed on eligible babies; document data and results.
• Upload screen results and billing data by end of shift; reconcile statistics as directed.
• Schedule outpatient follow-up appointments for refer babies when appropriate.
