Job summary

Corewell Health Taylor Hospital is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to assess and treat speech, language, cognitive, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders in both children and adults. You will evaluate referrals, set goals with patients and families, and implement plans to maximize independence after discharge.

Qualifications

• Experience with adult/children neurological speech and language disorders, evaluation and treatment including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia, laryngectomy, stuttering and voice disorders.
• Experience with head and neck cancer, tracheostomies, cognition, TBI, dementia and modified barium swallow studies.
• Licensure and certification as required by ASHA and Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized patient care evaluating and treating speech, language, social and cognitive communication, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders per physician referral.
• Develop patient- and family-centered goals and implement treatment plans to maximize independence at discharge.
• Participate in performance improvement and ongoing education to advance the department and profession.
