Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center in Dubuque, IA is seeking a part-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with perinatal and neonatal expertise to join our NICU team. The role offers 24-hour in-house shifts and a flexible schedule with a 0.6 FTE (4 shifts per month, 52 per year).

The selected NNP will assess, evaluate, and treat neonates under pediatricians, participate in high-risk deliveries, resuscitation, and newborn care, and contribute to ongoing education and quality initiatives within the Birth

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited NNP program.
• Unrestricted State of Iowa License.
• Experience in a NICU for a minimum of two years.
• Comfortable working independently as only 1 NNP will be scheduled per shift.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS Certification.
• NRP Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, and treat neonates under pediatrician supervision.
• Attend high-risk deliveries, resuscitate, and stabilize patients.
• Provide newborn care, resuscitation, and stabilization for deliveries as required.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging; write appropriate orders for therapies and admissions.
• Participate in staff education, competency assessments, and policy development as appropriate.
