The family has two children: ababy girl born in June 2026and a son who will turn six in October. This is an excellent opportunity for an experiencedinfant nanny or professional nannywho loves working with babies and is passionate about child development.
The afternoon nanny will work alongside the family’s established full-time nanny. The primary responsibility will be caring for the infant while the full-time nanny focuses on the older child after school. The family has a strong, trusting relationship with their current nanny and is looking for someone who will become a collaborative and dependable member of their childcare team.
The mother works a hybrid schedule and is home much of the week, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with parents and another nanny while maintaining clear, professional communication.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide warm, attentive, and nurturing care for the infant throughout the afternoon and early evening.
  • Follow the family’s establishedinfant schedule and routines, including feeding, naps, play, and developmental activities.
  • Support healthyinfant development and age-appropriate milestones.
  • Plan and engage the baby in stimulating, age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Support the introduction and progression of solid foods as developmentally appropriate.
  • Maintain the baby’s established routine following sleep training.
  • Work collaboratively with the full-time nanny to ensure both children receive consistent and attentive care.
  • Communicate openly and professionally with parents and household staff.
  • Assist withlight child-related housekeeping, including washing bottles, tidying play areas, organizing children’s belongings, and keeping childcare areas neat.
  • Receive and bring household or child-related deliveries into the apartment and unpack as needed.
  • Provide additional childcare coverage when the full-time nanny is sick or unavailable, or when the older child is out of school or camp.
  • Occasionally provide additional weekday or weekend coverage with advance notice and based on availability.

SCHEDULE
  • Monday–Friday | Approximately 2:30 PM–6:00/6:30 PM
  • Flexibility to occasionally stay until7:00 PM(Mon-Thurs) when needed.
  • Some days may end earlier depending on the mother’s schedule.
  • 20 guaranteed hours per week
  • Start date:November 2026
  • Guaranteed commitment throughJune 2027
  • Strong potential for the position to become along-term nanny role
  • Potential opportunity to transition tofull-time in September 2027
  • Additional weekday hours may occasionally be available.
  • Very occasional weekend coverage may be requested with advance notice.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum5 years of relevant professional childcare experience.
  • Minimum3 years of professional nanny experience.
  • Minimum2 years of professional infant-care experience.
  • Babysitting experience does not count toward the required professional experience.
  • Relevant professional experience may includepostpartum doula work, classroom teaching, or child therapy.
  • Strong knowledge ofinfant development, developmental milestones, feeding, sleep, and daily routines.
  • Experience introducing solids and maintaining an infant schedule following sleep training.
  • Warm, nurturing, energetic, and genuinely passionate about working with children.
  • Proactive, organized, dependable, and able to anticipate the needs of children and the household.
  • Comfortable working as part of aprofessional childcare teamalongside parents and an established nanny.
  • Must belocal to the New York City area.
  • CPR certified.
  • Fully vaccinated and committed to maintaining current vaccinations, includingCOVID-19 and influenza.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong, verifiable professional references.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$40–$5 0 per hour, depending on experience
  • W-2 employment
  • 20 guaranteed hours per week
  • Overtime paid at1.5x for hours worked over 40 hours in a week
  • Paid vacation coordinated with the family’s travel, with a minimum of10 paid days
  • Paid time off includes the week between Christmas and New Year’s and one week at the end of summer, with potential for additional vacation
  • 10 paid national holidays

  • $200/month healthcare stipend
  • $132/month OMNY transportation benefit

This position is particularly well suited for a nanny who enjoys working as part of aprofessional household teamand is looking for a guaranteed part-time schedule with the potential to grow into a long-term or full-time opportunity.
