Job summary

The Salvation Army's Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Music Instructor for a part-time role (up to 10 hours weekly). The position requires evenings and weekends, reports to the Performing Arts Manager, and offers a salary of $35.00 per hour.

The instructor will deliver music and arts instruction, coordinate with partners, and support all center events as needed. Ideal candidates have at least a High School Diploma or GED and one year of formal music

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required for consideration.
At least one year of formal music training and brass experience or equivalent training/experience.
Excellent customer service and program development skills are essential.
Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
Ability to handle difficult situations professionally and remain safety conscious.
As a Mandated Reporter, training on recognizing and reporting child abuse must be completed before employment with periodic renewal.
Meets PA Act 153 child protection clearances, including state and FBI background checks.
Understands and supports The Salvation Army and the Kroc Center mission.

Responsibilities

Plan and provide music and/or arts instruction to members and nonmembers.
Coordinate with partners and support events within the Kroc Center.
Instruct and supervise students, lead evenings or weekend sessions when scheduled.
Promote Performing Arts Ministries and assist with equipment maintenance.
Track attendance and ensure safety and proper use of instruments.
