Job summary

The Institute of TexanCultures at UT San Antonio is seeking a part-time Customer Service Assistant to welcome visitors, process admissions sales, and provide information about museum programs and workshops.

Under general supervision, you will help maintain a safe, engaging environment and support special events and tours. Prior front-desk or hospitality experience is preferred, and bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• One year of hospitality/front-of-house or related experience is required.
• Ability to maintain security and integrity per Texas EO-GA-48.

Responsibilities

• Front-desk customer assistance: answer phones, greet customers, provide information.
• Provide general information, directions, and guidance on procedures and resources.
• Research and resolve routine inquiries; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Perform administrative tasks: data entry, records maintenance, document processing.
• Support communications channels and maintain timely, professional correspondence.
• Apply policies and procedures in customer interactions and tasks.
• Escalate issues when necessary using sound judgment.
• Assist with departmental projects, reports, and tasks as assigned.
• Collaborate with team to ensure quality service delivery and daily operations.
• Attend meetings, trainings, or events as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
