Job summary

Christiana Care Health System at Springside in Elkton, MD is seeking a Part-Time MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures, ensure safety, and maintain quality control per departmental protocols.

Two 12-hour shifts per week, 7:30am–8pm, with weekend rotation about every 90 days. ARRT registration and advanced MRI certification within 2 years are required, along with Cerner training and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• MR Technologist experience required.
• ARRT Registered Technologist required.
• ARRT Advanced MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire.
• Cerner training required.
• Excellent customer service/telephone skills required.
• Flexibility in hours is required.
• Flexibility to work at alternate locations as needed.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
• Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.
• Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and research implanted devices prior to scanning.
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
• Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
• Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
• Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
• Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
• Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.
• Maintains patient confidentially.
• Uses 2 patient identifiers at all times.
• Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
• Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.
