Job summary

Council on Aging Services for Seniors in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a part-time Prep Cook to support Kitchen Operations under the Head Chef. The role focuses on timely prep, recipe adherence, and safe food handling in a nonprofit setting serving seniors.

Responsibilities include following daily prep lists, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with receiving and storage of orders. Must have a year of cooking experience and pass health and background checks.

Qualifications

• 1 year of cooking experience.
• Ability to read and follow written recipes.
• Must pass pre-placement physical and drug test.
• Must be able to pass California Food Handler's certification.
• Ability to work cleanly and follow sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and meal components from recipes or instructions under the Head Chef.
• Prepare all items on the daily prep list within the allotted time.
• Use and maintain a variety of kitchen tools and equipment.
• Confirm ingredients are in stock or ordered 24–48 hours prior.
• Clean assigned work areas and follow safety practices.
• Assist with receiving and proper storage of orders.
• Other duties as assigned (dishwasher, packing meals).
