Job summary

Akumin is hiring a part-time Patient Coordinator for our mobile unit at St Helena Adventist and Sutter Lakeside. This role focuses on welcoming patients, registering them in systems, answering calls, and guiding them through the visit with attention to HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, obtaining prior authorization, scheduling follow-ups, and ensuring accurate patient records. A background in customer service and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for Mobile Radiology and Oncology.
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations and travel as needed.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems.
• Answer phone calls professionally and courteously.
• May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
