Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for a mobile unit at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital. This part-time role involves greeting patients, registering them in systems, handling calls, and assisting with insurance verification and documentation.

Responsibilities include preparing records, coordinating with clinical staff, and ensuring accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation while maintaining a clean, organized work area across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for Mobile Radiology and Oncology.
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems.
• Answer calls professionally and courteously.
• May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage documentation.
• Maintain accurate patient records and HIPAA-compliant documentation.
• Support clinical staff with documentation and image delivery.
