Job summary

Care For the Homeless is seeking a Mobile Health Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for clients, staff and program operations across the Bronx and all five boroughs. This part-time role runs 9am–5pm, at $21–$23 per hour, non-exempt.

Responsibilities include driving with care, assisting with belongings, performing daily vehicle inspections, keeping logs, coordinating maintenance, and supporting outreach events while delivering outstanding customer service to clients and community

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL with Passenger/S school bus endorsement.
• BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• NSC DDC-6 Defensive Driving certification preferred or required.
• Ability to successfully complete a Physical Aptitude Test.
• Must have prior experience transporting individuals in a professional capacity.
• Must have clean driving abstract/MVR.

Responsibilities

• Drive clients, staff, and approved affiliates to and from assigned locations in a safe, courteous, and professional manner.
• Transport organizational materials, supplies, equipment, documents, furniture, and other business-related items as needed.
• Assist clients with personal belongings during transfers, relocations, or move-outs.
• Maintain awareness of client and staff safety while operating agency vehicles.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections, routine interior and exterior cleaning, and basic maintenance checks.
• Maintain accurate logs of mileage, operating hours, inspections, and vehicle usage.
• Coordinate and oversee routine maintenance appointments, including vehicle drop-off and pick-up.
• Respond to emergency transportation requests as directed by management.
• Assist with special events and community outreach activities as assigned.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, patients, staff, and community members.
• Ensure vehicles are stocked, clean, and operational; report mechanical issues promptly.
• Prepare and submit daily reports and documentation as requested.
• Support staff during outreach events which may include assisting with front desk duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
