Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Provo, Utah seeks part-time Teachers at the Missionary Training Center. This role supports missionaries by delivering training across language and gospel instruction, following the approved curriculum.

You will train both junior and senior missionaries, coordinate with fellow teachers, and participate in ongoing development. A returned missionary with English proficiency is required, and language-teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a returned missionary.
• Fluency in a specified second language for language teaching positions.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and complete assessments in English without translation services.
• Outstanding coaching, facilitation, and training abilities.
• Knowledge of Preach My Gospel concepts.
• Excellent interpersonal, prioritizing, professionalism, and leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work well with people.
• Understanding of language-learning strategies for language teaching positions.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• May include physical requirements for long periods of sitting or standing.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction, direction, counsel, and feedback to missionaries in training settings: one-on-one, small group, and large group sessions.
• Plans and prepares lessons following approved curriculum with a co-teacher when applicable.
• Directs missionaries in planning and accountability for their learning.
• Implements direction from Teacher Trainer/Supervisor and Training managers.
• Attends weekly training meetings and co-teacher meetings.
• Coordinates with mission leadership and Missionary Department leadership as requested.
• Reports on needs and progress to leadership.
• Coaches missionaries in preparation for practice and live lessons.
• May assess proficiency in the target language for missionaries and teacher applicants.
• Takes on additional responsibilities at the MTC as assigned.
