Job summary

The Salvation Army Corning Corps is seeking a Part-time Ministry Assistant (15 hours per week) to support kids and teen programs, VBS, and outreach. You will assist with Sunday School, seasonal events, and leadership at events alongside Corps Officers.

A minimum of a high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required, with basic computer skills and a commitment to Salvation Army doctrines. We offer generous time off including paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive Salvation Army vehicles
• Basic computer skills are necessary for records and scheduling
• Emotional and spiritual maturity aligned with Salvation Army values

Responsibilities

• Assist Corps Officers in planning and coordinating kids and teen programs, VBS, and outreach ministries
• Help with Sunday School and junior church in rotation with Corps Officers
• Support seasonal events (Kettles, Angel Tree, Back to School)
• Assist in promoting and registering events and activities
• Provide transportation support for programs and events as needed
• Complete Kid’s Café training to cover staff call-offs
• Gather program statistics and maintain records
• Assist with daily Corps needs and special projects as assigned
