Job summary

Elliot Health System is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist/Medical Technologist in the Microbiology Department at the Main Campus. This part-time role is 24 hours per week, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with weekend and holiday rotation. The department features molecular microbiology, Rotem coagulation, a full chemistry line, histology and cytology.

A bachelor’s degree is required; MT/MLS certification is preferred, with 2 years of bench microbiology experience. Phlebotomy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Two years of bench work in clinical microbiology preferred.
• MT/MLS certification preferred or ASCP eligible.

Responsibilities

• Accurately perform laboratory tests and maintain sample integrity.
• Notify clinical personnel for critical results.
• Maintain records and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and document procedural issues.
