Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time MFM Sonographer to perform diagnostic maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations in accordance with industry standards and departmental policies. The role requires ARDMS OB certification and BLS, with responsibilities spanning image acquisition, protocol selection, and patient care throughout procedures.

The position offers 16 hours per week with a competitive hourly wage range and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Sonography Program.
ARDMS Obstetrics Gynecology (OB) certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations following department policies.
Independently perform two-dimensional ultrasound imaging of female reproductive anatomy and fetal structures with clinical judgment.
Review orders and patient history to determine appropriate examination protocols and techniques.
Operate ultrasound equipment and adjust imaging parameters to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
Monitor patient condition and communicate findings to the physician.
Prepare and sterilize equipment, maintain sterile fields, and ensure safety protocols.
Document procedures and results accurately for patient records and billing.
