Job summary

Rite of Passage is seeking a Part-Time Metal Detector Officer at The Arkansas Juvenile Assessment and Treatment Center (AJATC) in Bryant, AR. Responsibilities include safety, monitoring the metal detector, and screening entrants while supporting daily operations and resident supervision.

Pay ranges from $17.75 to $18.82 per hour, with a $1,000 bonus after completing Essential Skills Training. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, and PTO. Requires HS diploma and age 21+.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Prior experience is a PLUS, but not required.
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test.
• Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry.

Responsibilities

• The Metal Detector Officer is responsible for maintaining safety and security at the facility by monitoring the Control Desk entrance, operating the metal detector, screening all individuals entering the building, and conducting searches for contraband in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
• This position ensures proper entry and exit procedures are followed, maintains visitor and security documentation, and remains alert to any potential safety concerns while providing professional and respectful communication to staff, visitors, vendors, and residents.
• When activity at the Control Desk is limited, the Metal Detector Officer may also assist with Coach Counselor responsibilities throughout the facility, including resident supervision, movement, and support of daily operations.
• This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to maintain a safe, structured, and secure environment.
