Job summary

Aspire Public Schools in Richmond, CA is hiring a Mental Health Therapist (Gen Ed) to deliver school counseling services to TK–12 students. The role involves screening, individual and group counseling, family collaboration, and MTSS planning, in partnership with teachers and site staff.

The position supports professional development for licensure candidates and may include supervision for trainees, with a focus on creating safe, supportive learning environments across Aspire campuses.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to students and learning.
• Experience with students TK-12.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organization and time management; ability to handle multiple cases.
• Teamwork and collaboration with staff.
• Knowledge of intervention and prevention models (e.g., CBT, Play therapy).
• Ability to adapt to new approaches in duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date student case files in compliance with all guidelines.
• Build positive rapport with students while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Communicate clinical goals and progress with Aspire staff.
• Attend staff meetings, IEPs, 504s, and MTSS meetings as needed.
• Develop and implement interventions across tiers to promote positive learning environments.
• Collaborate on universal interventions like SEL and restorative practices.
• Provide crisis counseling and referrals as needed; support supervision for trainees.
