Job summary

Associated Students/SDSU is seeking a Men's Water Polo Assistant Coach to assist the Head Coach in supervising all aspects of the program, including teaching, administration, dryland and deck coaching. The role averages 10-15 hours per week with evening and some weekend availability, and emphasizes safety and policy compliance across sport club operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of Aztec Recreation programs, facilities, and policies required.
• Knowledge Aztec Recreation website required.
• Knowledge and/or participation of Aztec Recreation programs and facilities preferred.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding (on-line courses are excluded).
• Valid California Drivers' License and proof of automobile insurance are required.
• Must complete Gender Awareness and Sexual Harassment Prevention training within 30 days of hire.
• Must complete the California Defensive Driving Course.
• Attend all mandatory Aztec Recreation/Sport Club Staff meetings and trainings as directed.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all job expectations as outlined in the AS/SDSU Sport Club Coaching Agreement.
• Ensure safety of all team members, coaches and equipment as top priority.
• Assist with achieving team recruiting goals and coordinating scrimmages.
• Design and implement practice schedules for a.m./p.m. sessions and ensure timely start/end.
• Maintain positive community standing and facilitate outreach to alumni.
