City of Commerce is seeking a journey-level water polo coach to support a competitive program. Responsibilities include planning workouts, promoting the team, communicating with parents and coaches, and teaching ball handling, shooting and defensive tactics.

Under general supervision, provides journey level coaching and instruction duties in support of competitive water polo program, including assisting in the supervision of all aspects of the competitive water polo program; and teaching, administration and deck coaching at all team events and functions. The position will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the participants in the program by enforcing policies and procedures as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent GED.
AND
Two (2) years of experience teaching or coaching a water polo team or competing at a collegiate or national level.
Must obtain Class C with passenger endorsement within 90 day of appointment.
Must be available to work during team practice and competition hours including evening, weekend, and holidays.
May be required to work overtime.
Must maintain a level of physical fitness to meet Department standards.
May be required to pass a background investigation.
Requires occasional travel.
