Job summary

Portside at Grande Dunes is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to administer or supervise medications for residents in a safe, timely manner, and to support daily living activities with dignity and respect.

You will report to the supervisor on duty and Wellness Director, help plan the wellness schedule (typically 1 month in advance), participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with the care team to ensure compassionate, resident-centered care in a full-time role.

Qualifications

• Must maintain certification in the state where you work if required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
• Be in good physical health and free of communicable diseases; lifting, bending, and pushing medication cart about residence is required; must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Administers or assists with or supervises the administration of medications according to the physician order on the MAR.
• Documents medications administered on the MAR in accordance with company policy.
• Maintains security of medication cart and narcotic keys during shift; conducts narcotic count.
• Provides assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, eating, mobility).
• Works collaboratively with peers and other team members.
• Maintains professional demeanour when interacting with residents and families.
